Manifesto

The Scrapheap Collective wields art as a weapon and embraces a playful attitude to question this absurd era and our blurred sense of self. We confront our inner confusion and anxiety, seeing this absurdity-rooted ambiguity as both a fundamental aspect of existence and a wellspring of creativity.

Facing the void, we do not seek meaning; instead, we explore the meaninglessness of choices through forms like performance, video, and installation, examining our fears of the future and the futility of belonging. Our aim is neither to create masterpieces nor to provide clear answers; rather, we pursue the unknown through continual expression and reflection, building bridges for communication.

The Scrapheap Collective accepts, deconstructs, and reshapes reality with a playful mindset, finding ways to converse with the world through humor. We do not aspire to create eternal art but instead explore overlooked possibilities through fragmented, experimental creations, transforming absurdity into new experiences that inspire fresh perspectives.

We do not seek everlasting art; rather, through continuous expression, we aim to explore neglected possibilities. Forms like installations, interaction, and virtual reality serve as tools to transform everyday absurdity into new experiences and moments of reconsideration. Our art highlights confusion, anxiety, and isolation, bringing these to light and acknowledging them through open expression.

We do not build monuments but evolving forms of expression; each piece is merely a moment in an ongoing exploration. What matters is not finding answers, but continuing to ask questions. Our creative space is open and inclusive, rejecting any authoritative voice.  By embracing our limitations, we gain fearless strength to experiment and attempt.

We are neither rebels nor saviors, but witnesses. Creativity is our weapon, meant to open doors to the unknown. Each work by the Collective responds to the absurdity of reality without seeking to change or explain it. We expect no endpoint but continue forward in creation, responding to reality’s chaotic logic—until art itself is no longer necessary.
